I love your idea of a blog and so suitable that your company has started one for us quilters. I started quilting over 2½ years ago and not blowing your trumpet for you, have always used your Rulers, even giving some as gifts to my American quilting friends. they love them.

FABRIC POSTCARDS
Some thoughts on the use of pre-cut pieces of flat waddingin fabric postcards.
Collage & textile artists are exchanging fabric postcards, their purpose is to encourage creativity, experimenting, and trading. These postcards are little(4″ X 6″) pieces of art - mini collages of fibre & paper that an artist makes & posts to someone else. The artwork is on the front & the back is just like a real postcard with the words POST CARD across the top & a vertical line down the centre. Anything goes for composition & embellishment:
fabric, paper, threads, metal, found objects, printed items. A stabilishing layer is needed between the back & the front, & I have found that the flat wadding I got from Creative Grids does the job very well.
Can you tell me if you can supply it in small packs of ready cut pieces
4″X6″?
These cards can quickly be made in an evening, & even whilst travelling, & if the wadding was provided pre-cut to size, the whole job would be faster.
Eagerly awaiting your reply.
Jill Cawrey.

Dear Jill
Nice to hear from you. How many would you want in a pack. Is it the Thermore you like for the job. To make the job quicker you could try using the 4.5″ x 12.5″ ruler to make handling a bit easier.
Regards
Rachel

I know I am going to love this site and the blog is a great idea

Great new look to the site! MUCH easier to navigate, and everything seems to be in a more logical order.
Just one quick question: Will you be doing the silk batting by the roll? Crib sized bits are rather small for some of my stuff, and I’d like to experiment with it in garments as well as quilts.

Dear Kate
Thank you for your email and comments on our new web site.
We are discontinuing the silk wadding, but just to let you know we do have a few twin sizes still left as well as the crib.

Can anyone help me? I seem to think I saw a book on quilting as you go, I do not know if it was a book or an article in a magazine. I am new to this so please excuse if this is not a suitable thing for the site. Thank you. I thoroughly enjoy viewing the various items new and old listed now that I have broadband.

I love your rulers and I have bought quite a few. i bought the first one from a quilting shop and then I discovered your website. I joined a quilting class last year and some of the women asked me where I got my non-slip ruler now they have both got one, the non-slip feature really makes life easier when cutting I shall be buying more as I have ordered one of your catalogues.
How about showing our quilts with photos? Is this possible?

Hi Rachael,
What a good idea you have with the blogs. I run a group in Falmouth called Lighthouse Quilters. We are fortunate enough to be able to leave a ruler and large cutting mat at the Cricket Club where we meet, we have always hung it up by two large clips, unfortunately it has damaged the mat, is there a storage item for large cutting mats.
Keep up the good work
Chris
