NEC Festival of Quilts Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th August 2012

The Festival of Quilts (organised with the support of the Quilters Guild of the British Isles) has earned a reputation over the past eight years as the largest, most inspiring quilting event in Europe - with good reason! The Festival of Quilts boasts a host of gallery exhibitions from leading international artists and groups; the list for 2012 will be announced in February/March.
Over 250 companies will be selling all those hard-to-find patchwork and quilting supplies, so bring your shopping bags! We also offer The Quilt Academy with a stunning programme of nearly 100 masterclasses, workshops and lectures, and the Quick & Easy workshops provide another 100 plus sessions aimed at beginners.

Opening Hours: 10.00am to 5.30pm (closes 5pm Sun)

NEW ON-LINE SECURITY MEASURES PLEASE READ THIS IT'S IMPORTANT

You may have have already noticed changes within the Protx payment area on our web site. This is nothing to be alarmed about just a new security measure which the banks are phasing in over the next 12 months. Protx have started the new measure immediately so we thought we ought to explain to you that it is safe and at the end of the day it is for your extra security. When you come to pay you need to follow the instructions once and set up your on-line password. This is not just for when you order with us it is with all companies you deal with on-line so the password has nothing to do with the password we give you for 10% discount on-line.

This is what Lynne had to say about the day...

"It was a great day and Prince Charles said how interested he was in quilts, especially old Welsh ones.
He wanted to know more and when he knew I had written books, asked if he could have one….perhaps I should put the Royal Standard over our front door? He also asked if the jacket I was wearing was quilted and made by me (it is a tapestry type, so he can be forgiven for thinking this), so I told him I didn’t do domestic sewing, only creative…….."

Lynne is a very valued and dear friend to us all at Creative Grids. She has not only been our friend but her knowledge, expertise and advice has been an enormous help to us in producing our Non-Slip quilting rulers, in particular she has also encouraged us and has been an outstanding help to Rachel over the past 10 to 12 years.

You will see on our website she has been responsible for designing specialist rulers which we were very privileged for her using our Creative Grids name. We intend to continue working with Lynne in the future and again I say we are very privileged to do so. For your information she will be demonstrating her new Non-Slip Cathedral Window Ruler along with her new Cathedral Window Quilts book at the NEC in August on Stand QIA21.
I am sure she will be delighted to see you all.
